Ludo
1. Number of Players
Each game will have exactly 4 individual players, no teams.
2. Objective
The objective is to move all four tokens from the starting area (home) to the finish line (home triangle) before the other players.
3. Game Setup
Each player is assigned a color (Red, Blue, Green, or Yellow). All tokens start in their respective starting areas. The game will be played using one dice.
4. Dice Roll
- Each player rolls the dice once per turn.
- A player must roll a 6 to move a token out of the starting area and into play.
- If a 6 is rolled, the player gets an additional turn.
- Rolling a 6 three consecutive times results in losing that turn.
5. Token Movement
- Once a token is in play, the player moves the token the number of spaces indicated by the dice roll.
- Tokens on the safe squares (marked on the board) cannot be captured.
- Tokens can be stacked on the safe squares.
6. Capturing Opponent's Token
- A player must capture at least one opponent's token by landing on the same space as the opponent's token.
- Only after successfully capturing at least one opponent's token can the player move their tokens into the finish line.
- If two tokens of the same colour are stacked together, they cannot be captured by the opponent and are considered safe.
7. Entering Home
- After completing a full lap around the board, a token enters the final row of its color.
- To move the token into the finish line (home), the player must roll the exact number needed to reach the finish.
- A token cannot enter home unless the player has previously captured at least one opponent's token during the game.
8. Winning the Game
- The first player to move all four tokens into the finish line wins.
- The remaining players may continue playing to determine second and third places, depending on the event format.

- If a player touches an opponent's piece, it must be captured if the capture is legal.
- To adjust a piece on the board, the player must say "adjust" before touching it.
- If an illegal move is made, it must be corrected immediately and replaced with a legal move.
- If a player's time runs out, that player loses the game, unless the opponent does not have sufficient mating material.
- A game may end in a draw by:
- Stalemate
- Threefold repetition
- Insufficient mating material
- Mutual agreement between players
- The use of electronic devices, chess engines, or outside assistance is strictly prohibited during games.
